La vecchia scuola

Miles e Rebecca Griffiths hanno ristrutturato una vecchia scuola del Lancashire con estro e fantasia.

Miles e Rebecca Griffiths vivono in quella che una volta era la scuola del villaggio. Situato nel cuore della Valle di Ribble rurale nel Lancashire, la struttura è stata costruita nel 1845, e per oltre 150 anni è stata utilizzata da bambini di una vasta area

 Alcune delle sue caratteristiche originali sono state conservata ma molti erano stati gli interventi nel tempo che avevano snaturato la struttura originale, ad esempio nella stanza che sarebbe poi diventata la cucina sono stati scoperti tre soffitti di differente altezza.

Dopo un anno di lavori di ristrutturazione, i Griffiths sono stati in grado di trasferirsi nella loro nuova casa. Su un lato l'ingresso c'è la sala principale, ora  sala da pranzo

la camera da letto 

e il bagno 

 La casa del preside, con la una grande stanza accogliente diventata un salotto, tre camere da letto e un bagno compongono il resto della proprietà.

Miles e Rebecca hanno arredato la casa con una interessante selezione di opere raccolte nel corso degli anni.

Once upon a time, a couple of senior living in the Paris region but dreamed of escaping to reach a land of sun, where they could start a family. According to their research, they visit the castle Margüi: a vast vineyard fallow, the center of which stands a splendid country house flanked by outbuildings. Once partitioned small adjoining rooms, the ground floor has seen its volumes redeployed large living spaces. Thus, instead of an old bearing wall now stands a magnificent vaulted tufa stone from a nearby quarry. The island in the kitchen, designed by Mary, is covered with a worktop Marble (Marble Ragnini).

Adorning its luster kitchen, this beautiful cast iron stove (Boisserenc) heats the entire living room in winter. The hood has been created and smoothed plaster Mary. Bike, wooden, Minots. Clock, The House Appart'thé. Chandelier, Antique Connection.

Under a chandelier pendants glass (Antique Connection), the table is set with ease. Table XVIII, Grange. Chair and limed white mottled by Mary. Table linen, Le Jacquard French. Dishes, Side Table. Decanter, Baccarat. Glasses, Chef & Sommelier.
