Vintage Christmas

Vintage is amazing. Look at these inspiring ideas and make something like this in your own house for Christmas time. Blue, silver, brown, black and gold or something a little bit more light like rose – these are the colors you need. Old-fashioned wreaths of fir branches or exquisite ones of balls; some vintage furniture with thin trees – not only fir trees – decorated with bells and balls. Take more flowers, candles and lace snowflakes. Flower centerpieces and use many flowers for decoration – that would be elegant! Use laces to pack the presents, old-fashioned lamps and candle holders would highlight the atmosphere. Vintage stockings on your fireplace would finish the impression.

Ogni angolo di questa affascinante casa di campagna situata nei pressi di Madrid è decorato per Natale con grande attenzione dalla padrona di casa, Mercedes Álvarez de Toledo, a dominare non sono i soliti colori natalizi rosso, oro e argento ma il verde e il rosa, con rami di abete, frutta, rose, eucaliptus , pigne, ortensie e fiori selvatici... accostamenti delicati e di grande effetto, il tutto esaltato da una luce naturale che filtra in ogni stanza, Il risultato è semplicemente incredibile!

Every corner of this charming country house situated near Madrid is decorated for Christmas with great care by the owner, Mercedes Álvarez de Toledo, to dominate are not the usual Christmas colors red, gold and silver, but the green and pink, with fir twigs, fruits, roses, eucalyptus, pine cones, hydrangeas and wildflowers ... combinations delicate and impressive, all enhanced by natural light that filters in every room, the result is simply amazing!

Cloches are transparent bell-shaped domes used to cover plants outdoors to protect them from frost.  This was their original purpose but today they are also used extensively in home decor. 

I heart cloches.  They are so simple yet add such a sophisticated charm when you put them over something.  Really, you can just take some random decorations, throw them under a cloche, and  ..... Instant beautification!  Lately, I’ve been admiring the many beautiful cloches filled with Christmas cheer.  Here is a peek at some of my favorites. 

Le cloches sono cupole a forma di campana di vetro trasparente un tempo utilizzate per coprire le piante all'aperto e proteggerle dal gelo. Questo era il loro scopo originale ma oggi sono ampiamente utilizzate anche per decorare le nostre case. Sono oggetti molto semplici ma aggiungono un fascino molto sofisticato alle nostre decorazioni natalizie, basta semplicemente prendere alcune decorazioni casuali,  metterle sotto una cloche e ..... magia!

 Ultimamente ho ammirato tante belle campane piene di allegria natalizia, eccone alcune tra le mie  preferite.
